Get to know rICHELENE, and zoom Out Therapy, llc’s Mission:

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Richelene Cesar (she/her/hers), and I am a Clinical Psychologist, licensed to provide services in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Rhode Island. I identify as “Black AF,” Haitian-American, a descendant of enslaved folx, queer, cis-gendered, neurodivergent, and able-bodied. My specialties include Black mental health, acculturative stress related to being an immigrant or an adult child of immigrants, identity development, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness (i.e., relationships).

My primary goal as a clinician is to help folx to embrace their imperfections and authentically be themselves, which involves creating attunement with one’s life, values, and emotional experiences. I strongly believe my role is not only to help you to “feel better,” but to also help you to simply feel. I empower clients by meeting them where they are, and equipping them with skills, tools, and resources that allow them the freedom to change, grow, or heal when they are ready.

The philosophy of care at Zoom Out Therapy, LLC (ZOT, LLC) highlights an individual’s safety and healing, as well as restoring a sense of empowerment and feeling seen. I strive to foster a collaborative therapeutic alliance that is direct, but open, and always client-centered. I am also committed to providing care through a decolonized lens and offering liberating perspectives in all of my therapeutic services.

My main passion is to help eliminate mental health stigmas which are prevalent in Black and BIPoC communities. When I’m not rallying on behalf of and centering the voices and experiences of all marginalized folx, I enjoy spending my free time traveling, hiking, kayaking with my twin sister, or consuming true crime novels or documentaries.

Also, I love goats.
